Hi all, I have the problem that I cannot see Windows shares with names longer than 12 characters. Since the dos-filename-format 8.3 sums up to 12 characters (including the dot) I assume that it has something to do with name mangling or filename conversion. But I could not find a Samba option for hiding files longer than "8.3"-length that I could switch off... Thank you for your help Jan

And why is windows capable to "see" shares with longer names ? Thanx Jan
