all the logs are in
/var/log/samba
you'll probably want to break the logs out by machine so it's easier to
follow.
you can do that with a
log file = /var/log/samba/log.smbd.%m
parameter in smb.conf
if you search the archives of this list you'll probably find the
solution to your problem.
google's +site:lists.samba.org
works well
