[Samba] stale smbd process when user logs out
Hello, Our group is observing the following behavior: When a user accesses samba and then logs out of windows, the smbd process on the UNIX side is often not terminated. This leaves the windows machine in an unusable state (further attempts to access samba result in the user being asked for a userid and a password, and none are accepted). The only solution we have discovered is to either reboot the windows machine or kill -15 the smbd process. Any ideas? --Brian

[Samba] Re: stale smbd process when user logs out
I neglected to mention that we are using samba 2.2.5 and rehat linux 7.3. --Brian On Thu, 26 Sep 2002 bsemmes@Sol.CS.Trinity.Edu wrote:> Hello, > > Our group is observing the following behavior: > > When a user accesses samba and then logs out of windows, the smbd > process on the UNIX side is often not terminated.
