I am using Samba 2.2.5 on RedHat 7.3. Here's the setup: I have my samba setup as PDC on a windows (Win9x) network. I have encrypted passwords enabled with all users in smbpasswd file. The linux server is running NIS with all the same (samba) users in /etc/passwd & NIS. Here's the problem: A user can login to the Domain fine AND their login script executes. However, their home directory is not visible and if I create a file in the tmp directory as that user, the owner on the new file is nobody:nobody for each user. So if I have a directory with 770 permissions, which I need to have, no user can access that directory. (currently, all shares have guest ok set to yes) What is happening that the user is changing to nobody? Thanks... __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
