[Samba] big problems with samba even after update to 2.2.5
Hello, a few weeks ago i posted a problem and i got some tips from several people. But nothing helps. Here the problem again: Something strange happens sometimes with Office Documents when trying to open them on a samba share. The files were destroyed and I think the problem is Samba cause in the files you can find some log entries from samba. When i reboot W98 it ok for hours or days. I use samba 2.2.5 on Suse 7.3 and MS Office 2000 with service pack 2 on WIN98 SE greetings Gregor Here the beginning of a destroyes file: [2002/09/10 14:39:00, 2] smbd/open.c:open_file(233) GREGOR opened file Daten/20021009_facilitycare.ppt read=Yes write=Yes (numopen=1) ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????^@n^^?E~^@^@~_??J????$Sxx | ?ZJ?~IPNG^M ^Z Here my smb.conf: [global] server string = Rottschaefer&Herbort Server encrypt passwords = yes workgroup = SIMPSONS security = DOMAIN interfaces = 192.168.17.60/255.255.255.0 domain logons = yes logon script=%U.bat netbios name = buero wins support = yes os level = 255 domain master = yes preferred master = yes local master = yes socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY log level = 2 veto oplock files = /*.DBF/*.FPT/*.CDX/*.mdb/*.xls oplocks = no level2 oplocks = no kernel oplocks = no case sensitive = no mangle case = no short preserve case = yes preserve case = yes dos filetimes = yes dos filetime resolution = yes [daten] public=yes comment=Kunden read only=no path=/home/daten create mask = 777 directory mask = 777 writeable = FALSE valid users = wolf, gregor write list = wolf, gregor guest ok = no Herbort und Rottsch?fer - IT-Konzeptionen http://www.herbort-rottschaefer.de Antoniuskirchplatz 16 48151 M?nster tel:0251-1367594 fax:0251-1367595
