samba - Sep 2002 - User names?

I rebuilt an RHL 7.2 and copied my Samba file(s) back over.  Samba is 
running, and when prompted for my username/password by my Windoze machine 
it will only work with one username/password.  It will not work with any 
others.

What's causing my problem here?

You have forgotten to copy also the old passwd, shadow and group files. I am
not really sure, but I think, that you can not use the users in smbpasswd
without having them in system - in passwd, shadow, group.

I moved over the user account files--and FTP service is instantaneous now, 
that never happened before--but trying to open a Samba share on the machine 
will only work with one particular user account and none of the others. 
 Especially the one I need to use to open the Samba share on the machine.

What else am I missing?
