Make sure admin1 is your PDC. Also make sure you add the linux machine to the Server Manager under Windows NT first. --Nick Matt.Gregory@ctimi.com wrote:> I'm having a little trouble adding my linux machine to my Windows NT > domain... anyone know how to resolve this issue: > > [root@dev-zope-knox01 root]# smbpasswd -r admin1 -j CTI1 > cli_net_auth2: Error NT_STATUS_NO_TRUST_SAM_ACCOUNT > cli_nt_setup_creds: auth2 challenge failed > modify_trust_password: unable to setup the PDC credentials to machine > ADMIN1. I got the server added to the NT domain (wrong samba name in the domain) What format should samba -> nt users have? My username (mgregory) is in the NT domain but I get authentication error when I try to map a network drive. Do I need to add the domain to the usernames? (i.e. \\CTI1\mgregory)? All that is set correctly, and the Linux machine has been added to the Windows NT domain. Make sure your security type in the samba config file is either "DOMAIN" or "SERVER" and that your "password server" directive is set to either one of your NT servers, a list of NT servers, or a * to broadcast for a server. Also make sure you say "encrypted passwords = yes" in your smb.conf file. --Nick Matt.Gregory@ctimi.com wrote:> I got the server added to the NT domain (wrong samba name in the domain) > What format should samba -> nt users have?
