Hi,
I know this isn't a supported platform or anything, but I'm trying to
get
Samba 2.2.5 going on my Playstation 2 (mipsel-linux). There's an RPM for
2.0.something on the PS2-Linux CD, but I'm always a fan of running the
latest
version.
It compiles okay, as long as I specity ./configure --host=mipsel-linux (not
"--build=mipsel-linux" for some reason, like most things) and I've
got it
installed. nmbd appears to run okay.
But when I start smbd, it dies straight away, "ERROR: Samba cannot create
a
SAM SID" is written to the log.
Something in the log says this:
[2002/07/11 10:06:16, 0] tdb/tdbutil.c:tdb_log(492)
tdb(/usr/local/samba/private/secrets.tdb): tdb_oob len 1111638618 beyond eof
at 8192
That numer looks very large. Could samba be confused about the
'endian-ness'
of my mips processor? (wild guess) - Any definitive way to find out?
Any ideas where else to look? Full details from the log file follow...
