Windows Domains do not work with plain text passwords. This mean you have to also setup smbpasswd file (or ldapsam or tdbsam). To store encrypted passwords. Then do NOT set nt support = no, it will make your server not behave correctly with w2k/XP clients. and last you must join the domain as root (but you may as well set a different password in samba passwd then the one you use on you system and disable the samba root account when you finish administrative operations that needs it.
