Hey all, I just joined the list because I thought it would be a good resource to have as I find myself working on more and more samba-related projects at work. The problem I am having right now doesn't seem like a hard one, but it's proving itself to be a large pain in the butt. I just built a server, installed RedHat 7.3 on it, and downloaded the samba-2.2.4-2 RPM from one of the samba.org mirrors within the last couple days. My assignment was to setup this box as a PDC for one of our clients, so I began a document/information hunting session, and that revealed a pretty good HOWTO entitled "How to Configure Samba 2.2 as a Primary Domain Controller" (http://www.samba.org/samba/ftp/docs/htmldocs/Samba-PDC-HOWTO.html), which, as I'm sure you know, it's basically an update to the earlier HOWTO published by David Bannon. I tried configuring Samba myself, but in the interest of time I just used a pre-made one that I found on a website dedicated to a person who was discussing how to set up a PDC and BDC and such. Anyways, I am left with this one issue now, and it happens when I try to join a machine to the domain. On the client side, I get: "The username or password you supplied is incorrect" (or something to that effect), and in the logs it says: [2002/05/24 10:58:31, 0] rpc_server/srv_samr.c:api_samr_set_userinfo(670) api_samr_set_userinfo: Unable to unmarshall SAMR_Q_SET_USERINFO. [2002/05/24 10:58:31, 0] passdb/pdb_smbpasswd.c:pdb_getsampwrid(1416): Unable to open passdb database. Would anyone be able to shed some light on the subject, and possibly tell me a way to fix this issue, or even what it's caused by?
