Slowdown when copying large files
...ce re-enabled it and that has not improved matters at all (it's not actually using the swap anyway since it has 64M of RAM and it's not full yet). I'm totally stumped. I originally posted this to the NT-Dom list and got this reply..... > -----Original Message----- > From: David Bannon [mailto:D.Bannon@latrobe.edu.au] > Sent: Friday, 24 July 1998 5:07 > To: Multiple recipients of list > Subject: Re: Slowdown when copying large files > > > At 04:33 PM 24/07/1998 +1000, Michael Anthon wrote: > >Everything seems to work fine, except that when I try > co...

Authenticating a W2K Workstation
I have a server running samba 2.2.0 downloaded from the cvs last thursday. The system is configured as a PDC per David Bannon's HowTo. I have a W2K workstation. Anyways, I am left with this one issue now, and it happens when I try to join a machine to the domain....

access denied when trying to connect XP to samba-2.2.1a-4 PDC
Ok, Heres the setup: RH 7.2 with samba-2.2.1a-4. I have had samba as a PDC for sometime now, and WINNT & WIN2k systems have no problem logging on to the domain. Whenever I try from my XP pro test sys, I get: The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "WORKGROUP"; Access is denied. I do have a trust account set up for this system, and I manually added the trust

It's two years I have set up a Compaq ProLiant 1600 dual-PIII as a workgroup server, using RH 6.2 and samba 2.0.7 (a BIG thank to David Bannon!!!) > Here in second statement I don't have a bin directory at all under my > etc/samba.but blindly I have followed the steps. Is this right. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Please, you're on a *nix system. It's assumed you're aware of what you're doing. Use the sa...
