samba - Apr 2002 - Can't have two PDC's in the same domain

I am preparing to migrate the Primary Domain Controller function from my NT
4.0 box to Samba. Is there a way to "turn off" the PDC function on the
NT
box without re-installing the OS?

The only way I know of is to use a commercial closed source product called 
UPromote :

I am not a member of the samba team,
and anything that I say may not be as
accurate as a response from one of the
team.  I reply to save those more
qualified time, which can more usefully
be spent developing SAMBA further.
