Hello all, I?m with problems executing some file (.bat, .exe) in a directory with more than 8 characters. When I try to execute some file in this directories, i got the error "Access denied". Somebody knows whats wrong? Thanks, Fernando.
all the permissions is right. for an example, in directories with 8 or less characters, a can execute my files. only in directories higher than 8 characters i cant execute them. Example: directory: s:\test\test.bat <runs ok> directory: s:\testtesttest\test.bat <access denied> the test and the testtesttest directories have the same permission. my samba version is 2.2.1a On Wed, 3 Apr 2002 15:30:39 +0100 "Kristyan Osborne" <kris@longhill.brighton-hove.sch.uk> wrote:> Check the permissions on the files. > > If you own them do chmod 775 <filename> > > checkout the man pages for chmod. > > ------------- > Kristyan Osborne IT Assistant Manager > Longhill High School > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Fernando Giorgetti [mailto:fernando@srv1.gruponet.com.br] > Sent: 03 April 2002 15:02 > To: samba@lists.samba.org > Subject: [Samba] Problem executing files > > > Hello all, > > I?m with problems executing some file (.bat, .exe) in a directory with more > than 8 characters. > When I try to execute some file in this directories, i got the error "Access > denied". > > Somebody knows whats wrong? > > Thanks, > > Fernando. > > -- > To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the > instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba
