Hi, Remove the entry from smb.conf, run testparm and check the default setting. :) cheers Gustavo -----Original Message----- From: Greg Zartman [mailto:greg@kwikfind.com] Sent: segunda-feira, 8 de outubro de 2001 14:17 To: swsnyder@home.com; samba@lists.samba.org Subject: time server parameter Does the time server global parameter do anything? It seems that Samba provides time services even if this parameter isn't included. The latest doc I can find on this says that the default is NO. Is it possible that Samba defaults to YES? Thank you. > Remove the entry from smb.conf, run testparm and check the default setting.Thanks. I performed the test as specified and Samba reports that time server = NO is the default. What does the parameter do anyway? It doesnt' seem to offer time services as putting net time //server /set in the netlogon.bat script, even if time server = NO, seems to sync client clocks with the server??? Regards, Greg
Well, the same happens to me. I don't have a clue why... Anyway, I use the time server feature, and that doesn't seem to be a big problem for me. :) cheers Gustavo -----Original Message----- From: Greg Zartman [mailto:greg@kwikfind.com] Sent: segunda-feira, 8 de outubro de 2001 14:48 To: Michels, Gustavo [EES/BR]; swsnyder@home.com; samba@lists.samba.org Subject: Re: time server parameter> Remove the entry from smb.conf, run testparm and check the defaultsetting.
