Hi raven,
Is smb started on initial bootup?
do " ps ax | grep smb " to see whether it's running.
if it's not , do " /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb start
then try a ps ax | grep smb to see the running status.
do you want to post a screen-shot of your smb.conf for viewing.
