Hi! First of all, i want to say thank you to all the people who helped me out the other day with the Mac question. In fact, Netatalk needed to be properly configured. Now i'm having another Mac problem :( and i've not been able to solve it. Well, it seems that although Macs are registering and functioning properly in the domain, they don't appear as such to the rest of the computares in that domain. This wouldn't be a problem if i wouldn't want to use that tiny Winpopup program that comes with Windows. So, Macs can send instant messages to PCs (using a Winpopup compatible software named Macpopup, but this doesn't happen the other way around). I'm running Samba 2.0.7 with Netatalk In atalkd.conf i only have this line: eth0 -phase 2 -net 15 -addr 15.224 -zone "DTE_ZONE" I don't have my domain name (DDTE) in any of netatalk config files. My smb.conf and is as follows: ######################################################################### # # # /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf # # # # Criado por M?rio Gamito em 08/12/2000 # # Alterado em 09/12/2000 # # # ######################################################################### [global] workgroup = DDTE smb passwd file = /usr/local/samba/bin/passwd encrypt passwords = yes unix password sync = yes passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u wins support = yes domain logons = yes security = user os level = 34 local master = yes preferred master = yes domain master = yes [netlogon] comment = net logon comment path = /export/samba/logon public = no writeable = no browseable = no [homes] comment = Areas pessoais. browseable = yes read only = no guest ok = no [Placard] comment = Area partilhada para professores. path = /home/Placard writeable = yes guest ok = no [Secretaria] comment = Area partilhada para os funcion?rio da secretaria. path=/home/Secretaria writeable = yes guest ok = no [Comum] comment = Area partilhada para funcion?rios e Docentes. path = /home/Comum writeable = yes guest ok = no
