Hi all, this is my first posting to Samba. :) *wave* I'm trying to set my Samba box to be the local master browser for the domain. I set os level to 65, but the Windows 2000 test machine that we have keeps winning the election. I've tried upping the os level to 75 to see if that works and it doesn't appear to. Does anyone know Windows 2000's os level, so I can set the Samba server up one higher to keep it winning? Thanks! Tom Murphy __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Some more information about the "Local Master Browser" election being lost. My smb.conf entries: os level = 254 domain master = no local master = yes preferred master = no The nmb log: [2000/04/03 13:50:07, 0] nmbd/nmbd_nameregister.c:register_name_response(112) register_name_response: server at IP 144.81.30.140 rejected our name registration of ETS<1d> with error code 6. I wonder why it rejected the name registration of ETS<1d> since I don't think it has any authority on the matter. Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance!
