NT Crashes when doing large network file Xfers (was Re: NT crashes during smbtar)
Ernie, Thanks for the great info.. Based on what you were seeing, would you suspect that part of the problem is with the combination of NT and the 3com card (3c595)? Currently, we are ONLY seeing this under NT Workstation (not server) and almost all of our machines have this same 3com 3c595 card (only if using 100BaseT).. -- Rick -----Original Message----- From: Ernie Oporto <ernie_oporto@mentorg.com> To: Rick Flower <Rick.Flower@trw.com>; Multiple recipients of list <samba@samba.anu.edu.au> Cc: Amanda-Users <amanda-users@cs.umd.edu> Date: Tuesday, June 30, 1998 9:34 AM Subject: RE: NT Crashes when doing large network file Xfers (was Re: NT crashes during smbtar)>This is a common problem for us. Is there a way to change my password on a remote NT machine from my Unix workstation? smbclient seems to provide no such facility. I'm working with Samba 1.9.18.p7 under linux v2.0.33 I have tried to use the "command dfree" with no success. I have use the script give in the smb.conf man page (and many others) and I have always the same problem. My clients, under w3.11 and w95, reports me : 0 free, 1,99Go total. Is anybody experience the same problem, and what is the solution ? mailto:xavier.saint-jalmes@infini.fr Brest - FRANCE Association INternet FINIst?re S'ils essayent de me presser, je r?ponds toujours que je n'ai qu'une autre vitesse, et elle est moins rapide.
Just apply the NT4_PlainPassword.reg (in the samba/doc directory) registry file to allow not encrypted passwords! Regards, Mit freundlichen Gr??en, W.
