I'd like request a feature... A "check valid" (or something like that) keyword for the smb.conf file. This would validate the share as pointing to a existing directory. If the directory is valid, the share appears in the user's browse list. Otherwise, the share doesn't appear. This is useful for shares that are generated by variable substition. For example, "path=/shares/%m" if the directory /shares/node1 exists, then that share will appear in node1's list. Otherwise it won't. Hi, This may seem a little pedantic, but would it be possible to get something like "logon name = <NAME>" This would enable us to set an alias NETBIOS name to appear when the PDC initiates a home users drive mount. Presently it automatically sets the name of the host machine. Our two options around this are 1. Change the DNS name of the hostname (boss doesn't want to do this) 2. Use a logon.bat entry using the alias name in NET USE (would be preferable to have the PDC provide the name and not rely on scripts that can change over time). Feel free to tell me to sod off :-) Regards, Antony. ----- Unix Systems Administrator School of Computing & IT University of Western Sydney Phone: (02) 4736 0771 Fax: (02) 4736 0770 Programmer (n): One who makes the lies the salesman told come true.
