Hello I have been looking around in the mailing lists and I see mainly unanswered mail,is there a spcial directory with problem solutions Thanks
Hi, You can search the archives http://samba.org.au/listproc/ghindex.html But I couldn't find anyting that was specifically summaries either. The digital unix managers list has a rule that when you find the answer you post it to the list with "SUMMARY" as the first word - you can then search through the summaries only and it's extremely useful. I was also wondering if the samba list could do something like this if there isn't something in place already. Is there any reason why the people that run the SAMBA mailing list can't use software like majordomo or something similar? Having the all-in-one type email every day or whatever is not as easy to use/read/reply .. would be a lot nicer for them to use Majordomo. Anyway, it was just a commment/suggestion :-) Regards, Gonzalo.
Hey Gonzalo! This is definately true. It takes a lot of steps to answer a mail in this list, you have to set up the subject and the quoting manually, and then you have to copy the From-Header manually to make sure, the user get's a copy of the mail, too. It would be very nice to use Majordomo... Can I please be added to your mailing list Thanks Rino
Can someone please tell me why I receive 2 of every message on the list? --- Aaron Axelsen AIM: AAAK2 Email: axelseaa@amadmax.com URL: www.amadmax.com "It said, ""Insert disk #3,"" but only two will fit!" "One picture is worth 128K words."
Are you sure you are not receiving two of every message that are simply responses to your own posting to the list? Most mail programs will send a reply to both the original poster AND the list address. My program did that, too, so you should be seeing my message twice as well! It is normal behavior. - john --On Wednesday, September 18, 2002 3:52 PM -0500 Aaron Axelsen <axelseaa@amadmax.com> wrote:> Can someone please tell me why I receive 2 of every message on the list? > > --- > Aaron Axelsen > AIM: AAAK2 > Email: axelseaa@amadmax.com > URL: www.amadmax.com > > "It said, ""Insert disk #3,"" but only two will fit!" > "One picture is worth 128K words." > > > -- > To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the > instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- John Thomas Benedetto, Analyst/Programmer jbenedet@unm.edu UNM General Library (505)277-7202/277-8945 Library IT Department http://eLibrary.unm.edu/ University of New Mexico http://www.unm.edu/~lithelp/ Albuquerque, NM 87131-1496
