Hi, I have: - Linux 2.0.30 - NT 4.0 - Samba 9.16pl11 - same user name and password on Linux and NT 4.0 (user1, pwxxx) and the smb.conf of below. When I create a file on the samba share [tmp] from the NT 4.0 machine, the owner is always 'nobody' (my guest account). I can not manage it to give it my own name (user1). I can not create a file in another directory neither, because samba always tries to create as nobody. With Win-95, everything works ! What is the difference in settings between Win-95 and NT 4.0 ? Any idea's TIA Alex smb.conf [global] encrypt passwords = yes preserve case = yes guest account = nobody log file = /var/log/samba-log.%m lock directory = /var/lock/samba share modes = yes workgroup = Office debuglevel = 3 domain master = yes os level = 10 wins support = yes wins proxy = yes [homes] comment = Home Directories browseable = yes read only = no create mode = 0750 [users] comment = User Directories path = /home public = yes writable = no printable = no [tmp] comment = Temporary file space path = /tmp read only = no public = yes writable = yes printable = no
