But in general if you want to run a process automatically as a daemon, you want
to add it to your system''s init scripts, and/or put it under the
control of some kind of monitoring system (e.g. Monit).
As a temporary quick-and-dirty fix, you can keep a shell session on the server
active by running it inside a terminal multiplexer like GNU Screen or tmux. This
is not a long-term solution, though.
