Rails - Jul 2009 - Why page.replace_html can send only one collections ?

I just want to understand why we can send only one paramater in
collections , and how to solve the problem if we want to send more than
one collection ?

render :update do |page|
page.replace_html :todoItems, :partial =>
''todos'',:collections=>@next_responsiblenesses

end
