Rails - Apr 2009 - Contacts Importer/ Invite friends import Gmail Hotmail etc

Hi,

I have a requirement of a Contacts Importer. I need to Invite friends by
importing Contacts from Gmail Hotmail etc...

Is there Ruby on Rails based code to import contacts from gmail,
yahoo, hotmail, etc.? I''ve seen this on many sites and have found php-
based code but nothing yet for Ruby.

Or can we use php code with rails application, If so how to use?

I think we could use OpenInviter but not that sure how.

I have found Contacts gem

Its too simple to use.

Try it if needed.

I have successfully imported contacts with ''contacts'' gem in
my
localhost. But in production environment I am getting ''Authentication 
Error''.
Please suggest a solution.
