JOBS: Looking for RoR developers to work on enterprise website in Gibraltar
Hi We have just completed the first phase of replacing our client''s betting and gaming website with a new version written in Ruby on Rails. You can see this at http://casino.victorchandler.com/vccasino. We are using Ruby 1.8.6, Rails 2.0.2, Apache, Mongrel, HAProxy, Memcache and MySQL. The web site talks to application tier (written in Java) using XML-RPC and JSON services. We consider this project to be multi-lingual, multi-currency, multi- timezone, multi-skin, CMS-driven, Web 2.0 and a good example of how Ruby on Rails can be used in the "enterprise". We are looking to build a team that is based in Gibraltar to continue development of this site, both for this client and for others. Applicants should be pragmatic and happy working in all parts of the application stack. You will be joining a small team that is technology-centric and focused on delivering solutions rather than sitting in meetings all day. If you think you would enjoy working in our team, please contact me on simon.ordish-DlIxJsxk9dw2hlyV4OGXBQ@public.gmane.org LVS, established in 1992, is a software house based in London and Gibraltar (http://www.lvs.co.uk). Best wishes Simon --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. Maybe better use passenger (2.0.6 just released). --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. Re: JOBS: Looking for RoR developers to work on enterprise website in Gibraltar
We did look at Passenger but our client uses Sun Sparc machines and there is an issue with running Passenger on them. We are using Apache because the client uses this for all external facing web sites and we feel HaProxy is better than mod_proxy_balancer for talking to Mongrels.
