Rails - Sep 2008 - Can I have a model being populated from an rss feed instad of a db table ?

I''m developing an app, that will read data from a db, but in a few
months I have to change it to read from xml feeds .

If anyone has done something similar or has some ideas on this, I
would apreciate some hints.
