Looking for a RoR Programmer for a Scientific Application within a Project at NIH
Hi, I actually staff for scientific projects within a large program at the National Institutes of Health in the Wash DC area. I have been looking for quite some time for a strong Ruby Programmer to work in conjunction with a scientific team to develop open source software tools for managing clinical data for research and personal use. This program at the NIH. This gropup is conducting medical research and the National Library of Medicine (NLM) is a major provider of biomedical information to researchers as well as the public, delivering millions of pages and downloads of several terabytes to requestors each day. The main goal of this person will be involved with is the development of a Personal Health Record (PHR) applications. The PHR is a web based tool designed to help adults manage the care of their elderly parents and young children. This application will enable care givers to learn about diseases and treatments recorded therein and remind care givers about preventative care needed for their charges. This position would be a FTE of Lockheed Martin and a competitive salary and full time benefits are offered. Primary skill set needed is minimum of 2 yrs working with RoR on professional projects and prior experience with conceptualizing, designing and describing complex java Unix/Linux client/server environments and ave the ability to teach others about emerging technologies.
