Hey, I just launched a new rails app that _might_ just save you some dealing with vector-based graphics. Well for now it only does simple gradients and corners, but I''ve still found it useful. Basically, instead of generating the image in Photoshop/GIMP and then referencing that file in your CSS/HTML, you just put the parameters in the url and the images are generated for you. A quick find and replace can change your color scheme without needing to go back to Photoshop/GIMP. If you are interested, check out http://www.thoughtless.ca or skip right to the examples here http://www.thoughtless.ca/pages/api You will need to send me an email if you want to sign up. I think it is safer to start with a small beta. Note: pretty much everyone on this mailing list is smart enough to ''hack'' the access_key, so that you don''t have to sign up for the beta. I am just going to ask that you please not do it. I will be fixing that soon, but in the meantime it isn''t a serious security hole so I''m just going to ask everyone to be nice. If you want to try it just send me a note, and I''ll set you up. I am really looking forward to hearing what you think.
