I can''t find information on this, granted I didn''t look exhaustively. If it is, is there any odd chance it will function on a 1.8.x install? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. Ruby 1.9 as of now to be precise. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. Hi Michael, you must keep in mind that Ruby and Rails are two different projects. Thus, the version numbers between the two projects will not be in sync for the most part. Futhermore, Rails is dependent on a stable Ruby release to base their Rail''s release(s) on. At this time, Ruby 1.8.4 - 1.8.6 are the production release(s) of Ruby compatible with Rails 1.2.3. Last but not least, the Rails core is constantly working Ruby core to ensure synergy between the two projects. Good luck, -Conrad On 8/11/07, Michael Chow <rails-mailing-list-ARtvInVfO7ksV2N9l4h3zg@public.gmane.org> wrote:> > > Rick Olson wrote: > > On 8/11/07, Michael Chow <rails-mailing-list-ARtvInVfO7ksV2N9l4h3zg@public.gmane.org> wrote: > >> > >> I can''t find information on this, granted I didn''t look exhaustively. > >> > >> If it is, is there any odd chance it will function on a 1.8.x install? > > > > It uses Ruby 1.8.4+ > > Interesting, so there is no foreseeable Rails development for Ruby 2.0 > at the moment? Hi Michael,> Interesting, so there is no foreseeable Rails development for Ruby 2.0 > at the moment? Ruby 1.9 as of now to be precise.IANACM (I am not a core member) but can tell you that currently neither Rails 1.2 or Edge Rails will function properly under Ruby 1.9/2.0. Rails'' release planning seems to be anyone''s guess, but I am very confident that the Rails contributors and community will commence an undertaking to tackle these issues once Ruby 2.0 nears completion. At the very least, I''ll be in line to contribute my fair share of patches :-) -- Roderick van Domburg http://www.nedforce.nl -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group.
