Rails - Aug 2007 - NNTP implementation for Rails

Just wondering if there is a NNTP implementation out there that would
allow me to connect to a newsgroup server and download some postings.
I couldn''t find anything.  I know Pear has one for PHP, and just
wondered if there was an equivallent in rails.
