Can rmovie be installed in a windows environment?
When I run "gem install rmovie".
It gives the following error:
Building native extensions. This could take a while...
ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::Installer::ExtensionBuildError)

ruby extconf.rb install rmovie

Gem files will remain installed in d:/InstantRails/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/
1.8/gems/rmovie-0.5.1 for inspection.
Results logged to d:/InstantRails/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/

Any help of this is appreciated.

You will need a full developer toolchain (compiler, make builder) installed and correctly configured, and then compile against the proper ffmpeg development headers and libraries. If you do not have access Visual C++ 6.0 or have sleepless nights over figuring it out, it may be easier to boot Ubuntu in a virtual image or set up a Cygwin environment. -- Roderick van Domburg http://www.nedforce.nl -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. Thanks Roderick. Added one more item to the list of reasons why I should move to Ubuntu. / Thushan On Aug 9, 3:49 pm, Roderick van Domburg <rails-mailing-l...@andreas- s.net> wrote:> Thushan wrote: > > Can rmovie be installed in a windows environment? > > It can, but it''s certainly not trivial.
