Hello, I''m going to order a dedicated server for my RoR application, but don''t know which nix distro is the best for hosting RoR application? Debian Etch, Ubuntu 6.06 or 6.10, Fedora Core 5 or 6? The better question is, which distro is your server administrator most comfortable with. This is where you''ll see the most benefits in your choice. -Robby -- Robby Russell http://www.robbyonrails.com/ http://www.planetargon.com/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. You might also look at using Freebsd; OpenBSD might cause problems with some gems. The deprec gem is cool; I''ve been playing around with it lately. It works with Ubuntu and makes the work of setting everything up a breeze: http://deprec.rubyforge.org/ I don''t know if it works with 7.04 or not, though; I think I''ll set it up tonight just to see... --Jeremy On 4/23/07, Human Dunnil <h.dunnil-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote:> > Hello, > > I''m going to order a dedicated server for my RoR application, but > don''t know which nix distro is the best for hosting RoR application? > > Debian Etch, Ubuntu 6.06 or 6.10, Fedora Core 5 or 6? > > Thanks in advance, > - Dunnil > > > >-- http://www.jeremymcanally.com/ My free Ruby e-book: http://www.humblelittlerubybook.com/book/ My blogs: http://www.mrneighborly.com/ http://www.rubyinpractice.com/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group.
