Rails - Oct 2006 - possible to have multiple actions on 1 link_to_remote ?

Or maybe another way.
Basically I want to give the user the ability to hit the link once, have it
do what it does, and click again to repeat same action.
Behind the scenes though the first time it''s removing one field, second
time
+ it would remove other fields ?
