Scaffolding basically means auto-generating a very basic code-base according
to a model to give you a starting point. Usually people start with
scaffolding when they start learning Rails, as the resulting code is usually
the Rails-way and a good learning experience. Once you understand that, most
people will then start applications from scratch.
