[Rails] New "made with Rails" site launched: www.invitika.com
We''ve finally finished up work on our application and are now beginning our beta. The site (SMS+mobile blogging+event planning+LBS+photos) is built using 100% Ruby on Rails. Many thanks to all the people who answered questions over the months on this list. Our experience with Rails was overwhelmingly positive! We''d love to hear any feedback you might have: http://www.invitika.com Thanks again, -elan -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

It would be good to have Demo link that walks a user thorough what your site is about. --- elan feingold <elan@bluemandrill.com> wrote:> We''ve finally finished up work on our application and are now beginning > our beta. Or did you see that and think it needs more? Many thanks for taking the time to look! -elan -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

We''re still very much in Beta, so go easy on us, but please let us know what you like and don''t like -- being that we''re a small company, we''re going to go the extra mile to be as responsive and friendly as we can. Site looks interesting. I clicked on an image. Wondering what the Java app was all about? Maybe the answer is behind one of the other pictures, but didn''t have time to look further. -Larry On 5/23/06, elan feingold <elan@bluemandrill.com> wrote:> > We''ve finally finished up work on our application and are now beginning > our beta. Larry Kelly wrote:> Site looks interesting. I clicked on an image. Wondering what the Java > app was all about? There''s an optional Java midlet component to the application. Rails made it super easy to use the same controller actions with XML views to send XML to the phone. -elan -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Likin'' it. It looks like a really useful application. Does it work for old-style phones too (ie, the option of being purely SMS based)? I can''t really handle the white on yellow though. -N On 23/05/06, elan feingold <elan@bluemandrill.com> wrote:> We''ve finally finished up work on our application and are now beginning > our beta. Perhaps a few minor tweaks to CSS would render it more visually palatable... Thanks for checking it out. -elan -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

White on orange would be ok. Making orange pages is quite a bold thing to do, but if you get it right, it can look really good. I prefer to play it safe and just use black on white for all large areas of text, then have any colours around it. Let us know if you update stuff, and I''ll go and have a gander, then give you my opinion. -N On 24/05/06, elan feingold <elan@bluemandrill.com> wrote:> unknown wrote: > > Likin'' it.
