I want the Login Engine to be displayed together with other modules in a single page,eg the left or head blank of the page just as the http://gallery.rgallery.dk/gallery shows. What should I do for that? tks anyway! -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

You''ll probably need to write your own partials and addition controller methods to enable AJAX-style logging in - this isn''t something that the login engine will do ''out of the box''. It is very simple to add views and methods without affecting the underlying engine - that''s basically the point of engines; you''ll want to read the engines plugin README for more information. - james On 3/13/06, pinnacle <pinnaclezhang@gmail.com> wrote:> pinnacle wrote: > > I want the Login Engine to be displayed together with other modules in a > > single page,eg the left or head blank of the page just as the > > http://gallery.rgallery.dk/gallery shows. [Rails] Re: How to embed the Login Engine in to the layout?
Do you have any good information on getting started with the Login Engine? Or do you know of any cookbook style tutorials/walk-through for it? I am just getting started with RoR and trying to dive into using some of the available tools (like Engines) without much success. Any help / direction is greatly appreciated. --Bill -----Original Message----- From: rails-bounces@lists.rubyonrails.org [mailto:rails-bounces@lists.rubyonrails.org] On Behalf Of James Adam Sent: Monday, March 13, 2006 8:39 AM To: rails@lists.rubyonrails.org Subject: Re: [Rails] Re: How to embed the Login Engine in to the layout? [Rails] Re: How to embed the Login Engine in to the layout?
The first thing to do is (as always) devour the README files for everything you''ve downloaded... both the Engines plugin and the Login Engine, for the specific things you''ve mentioned. Engines aren''t complex once you''re fairly comfortable with Rails and Ruby, but if you''re coming fresh to *all* of those, I can highly recommend the Pragmatic Programmer books - taking some time out to get a good grounding in the basics and become accustomed to DHH''s conventions will pay dividends in the future. For engines, the next place to look would be the engines site itself. Beyond that, specific questions or general queries can be sent to any of the mailing lists, we''re all fairly supportive :) Just to reiterate though - the README are vital. - james On 3/13/06, William (Bill) Froelich <wfroelich@dbsnow.com> wrote:> Do you have any good information on getting started with the Login > Engine?
