I know that my biz partner spent a while debugging an app he tried to
deploy via ftp because it didn''t take the .htaccess.
I''d say set it up on your local host or devel box, zip or tar/gzip it
up, put it on the server, and decompress it. you might have to tweak
your config repeatedly and you might have issues if you''re using a
variety of gems (freeze the gems and/or rails itself into the vendor
folder).
