Rails - Dec 2005 - Searching and then returning value back to form?

Hi,
 I have a form with one value that I want to pop-up a search page, and
take that result and send it back to the original page, how would I do
that in RoR? I googled and looked for similiar examples, but couldn''t
really find anything.
