Rails - Nov 2005 - conditional periodically_call_remote

Is there a way to only run periodically_call_remote when a condition is 
true? I essentially want the ability to start and top 
periodically_call_remote, based on a user initiated action.

Hi John,

I don''t know how to accomplish this, but I''ve seen a lot of
prototype
and javascript gurus hanging out on the rails-spinoffs mailing list.   
Have you checked there?
