I have some model attributes that on update or create need to be formatted using the username of the currently logged in user. For example when the attribute ''context'' is saved, I need to rewrite the value from ''value'' to ''__userame__value__''. Right now I just have a helper class that has a format_context method that I call in the controller whenever the attribute is saved. But I''d like to make it more transparent so it gets formatted on create and on update in the model. However @session is always nil in the model. What is the correct way to accomplish what I''m trying to do?
