I have been using Rails'' default database setup with test, development and production database runtime environments. What I now want to do is to have 2 or more DB connections for my application as I have a database for my app-specific needs and I also have a central database for another use. I tried playing with ActiveRecord::Base.establish_connection inside of environment.rb to open another connection (specifying a new entry in the database.yml file) but this new connection seems as if it overrides my Rails ''runtime'' database connection. How can I elegantly open 2 or more connections at startup and manage them throughout my application ? Thanks much ! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam?
