http://news.zdnet.com/2100-3513_22-5920169.html Does this mean the people that hyped the Dot Coms are now going to get wind of RoR and begin hyping it and Web 2.0''ifying it? I like RoR getting exposure, but am worried about the kinds of people that are going to crawl out of the woodwork now hyping it beyond hope. RoR is great technology, don''t get me wrong - I love it. I am just worried about the types of people I''ve seen that read ZDNN, I think ZDNN is almost single handedly responsible for hyping XML beyond all hope as well as SOAP, etc. Just my 2 cents. _______________________________________________ Rails mailing list Rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails

I wouldn''t point the finger are ZDNN; if anything, they''re a bit late to the party.> I like RoR getting > exposure, but am worried about the kinds of people that are going to crawl > out of the woodwork now hyping it beyond hope.:) James -- http://www.ruby-doc.org - The Ruby Documentation Site http://www.rubyxml.com - News, Articles, and Listings for Ruby & XML http://www.rubystuff.com - The Ruby Store for Ruby Stuff http://www.jamesbritt.com - Playing with Better Toys

One of my clients think that if we start using RoR then the six months project would be finished in less than a month. I can''t really blame him much. It''s not just one single article that is making him believe so. In his defense he cited blog entries from Justin, Bruce tate, David geary, Mike clark and tons of other articles/blogs in which the said productivity gain is anywhere from 5 to 10 times. So as per him ,even by a conservative estimate, a 6x productivity should wrap up a six months project in less than a month. -=- Neeraj On 10/31/05, Tom Ward <tom-FF2hOUnQ1ZmsTnJN9+BGXg@public.gmane.org> wrote:> > > Does this mean the people that hyped the Dot Coms are now going to get > wind > > of RoR and begin hyping it and Web 2.0''ifying it? > > Having read the article, I''m more worried about David being hyped > beyond all hope ;) > > Tom > > -- > tomafro (occasionally) on #rubyonrails > > _______________________________________________ > Rails mailing list > Rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org > http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails > > >_______________________________________________ Rails mailing list Rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails
