Hey lists- I''m just posting a reminder for the people who haven''t seen this yet. I have finished posting all the audio files of the presentations this year at RubyConf. Also I have some video files of a few presentations as well. And links to some slides and notes. I will be adding some more slides and notes as well as video as I get the content. Here is a link: <http://yhrhosting.com:7000> A few stats... Over the weekend(from Fri morning to Sunday night) I served just over 2900 audio file downloads for close to 90gigs bandwidth! It looks like the interest in ruby has increased quite a bit. I also wanted to thank Jim Freeze and Bil Kleb for recording the audio and video and rabble for getting the files on odeo.com as podcasts. There are some really great presentations and tons of great informations in these files so come and get em. My 100Mbit pipe has unlimited monthly bandwidth ;-) Thanks to all involved- -Ezra Zygmuntowicz Yakima Herald-Republic WebMaster http://yakimaherald.com 509-577-7732 ezra@yakima-herald.com

I spent hours over the weekend listening to the presentations, and will listen to more over the coming days. Getting the audio so soon after the sessions really brought things to life. best wishes Justin
I habe been trying for days to listen / download the mp3s from the conference. Unfortunately, each time I try to connect to http://yhrhosting.com:7000 I get server timeout error. Is there some way to get my greedy paws on these files? Thanks so much for all your work in making them available. ruby r0x, Jared Nuzzolillo http://www.protoscript.net/ _______________________________________________ Rails mailing list Rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails

Sp far since sunday I have server just over 4000 audio files so I know that everyone else is able to connect. So the only other people that have reported any problems have been behind a firewall that won''t let you surf a website on a high port like :7000. So try it from somewhere else or see if you can turn off your firewall while you download the files. The feeds are available on ODEO as podcasts: <http://odeo.com/ channel/34396/view> but there are some audio files that have not made it onto ODEO yet. Also, and this applies to anyone else interested as well, I have uploaded 10 different video feeds of 10 presentations. And there are 3 different quality versions opf each movie. I just double checked and I had no problem connecting to the blog from 3 different colocated servers in the east coast and west coast of the USA and one in Canada BC. So I think you should be able to get there if you find out whats blocking your firewall. Give it another try because there is some really excellent stuff up there man. you definitely want to check it out!! I hope you can get the files! The book "Agile Web Development with Rails" says, cryptically, that there is API documentation at http://localhost:8808. Naturally, this doesn''t work. What are they talking about ? I know about http://api.rubyonrails.com/ and use it. (It ain''t pretty). So don''t just say that. But if you know what they''re talking about, let us know. I''m on Windows XPSP2. Warren Seltzer
It also say, right above that, on page 6: "simply start the Gem documentation server (using the command gem_server)" Which does what you want. Mark- The server that that blog resided on was hacked and I was forced to rebuild the entire thing from scratch. Luckily I had a backup of the files and I have just resurrected them from the depths of a tape drive ;-). Hopefully this will be a more permanent home for these great gems. Here is the link. http://brainspl.at/articles/2005/12/01/rubyconf-files-resurrected Enjoy! -Ezra On Dec 1, 2005, at 7:10 AM, Mark Ericson wrote:> There must still be problems, I''m unfortunately unable to access > http://yhrhosting.com:7000/ > > On 10/19/05, Ezra Zygmuntowicz <ezra-SD1UcFUIF7QjH4SCZfkgnw@public.gmane.org> wrote: > On Oct 19, 2005, at 9:04 AM, Jared Nuzzolillo wrote: > > > I habe been trying for days to listen / download the mp3s from the > > conference.
