Hi guys,
Just joined the list, so this might have been addressed already. I tried
installing rails 0.14.0, and after that the rails command no longer
worked. This is the error:
/usr/lib/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:149:in `activate'': can''t
activate
activesupport (= 1.1.1), already activated activesupport-1.2.0]
(Gem::Exception)

from /usr/lib/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:166:in `activate''
from /usr/lib/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:26:in

`require''

from script/server:42
I checked the gem specs and found that the dependencies are kinda
screwed up. Rails 0.14.0 for example requires activesupport 1.2.0, but
the new activerecord still wanted 1.1.1, which of course doesn''t work.
There are some more cases of this in other files.
I manually adjusted those dependencies to the latest version, and
everything worked after that. Could somebody fix this in the gems
repository, or tell me how to do it myself (I doubt that I have the
necessary permissions)?
Thanks,
Martin
How did you manually adjust the dependencies? I updated to beta gems and my install is borked.> From: Martin May <mmay-VsM5TWebDq2iu113P13oHA@public.gmane.org> > Reply-To: <rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org> > Date: Mon, 17 Oct 2005 14:13:56 -0600 > To: <rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org> > Subject: [Rails] Rails 0.14.0 + Dependencies > > Hi guys, > > Just joined the list, so this might have been addressed already. Yes, I just adjusted the by hand and it worked after that.
