Rails - Jul 2005 - form_remote_tag and validations...HOW?

hi,

i chose the backpackit way to deal with a list of phones in my
app....i hide a form that is displayed back when i click on ''add a
phone''...then via ajax the form add the record to the database.....and
then also by ajax add the record to the displayed list...

but how can i send back to this form ''custom error message''
coming
from the validation process?

how can i have this form display "a phone have to be a number" ?

i also want to be able to send back an error message to the form for
other reasons...not only failed validations...
