hide ''id'' field in ''edit'' view again (after HowToExtendScaffolding)?
Hello, After following the instructions on http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/show/HowToExtendScaffolding there appears an ''id'' edit field on my edit webpaqes. Since this is the primary key of the table, I really don''t want a user to be able to edit it :) I''m not sure how to procede on this, I assume this is because of some of the extension of the ActionView::Helpers. Does anyone know how to fix this? --- Jeroen Janssen

Scaffolding is really just a way of kickstarting your crud ui, and it''s most certainly meant to be customized. This is one of the cases where you''d want to customize it. You can run ./script/generate scaffold if you want a quickstart on the html, or it''s just a matter of getting down to it and write some proper html+erb. j -- http://johansorensen.com http://theexciter.com

I got the impression from the page that it was only for the :scaffold form of usage. -- Jay Levitt | Wellesley, MA | I feel calm. I feel ready.
