Rails - Jul 2005 - Editor For Ruby

I''ve been using TextPad textpad.com for almost 10 years now. The
shareware fee (then $15) was the best money I''ve ever spent,
I''ve gotten
free upgrades ever since! It has tabbed browsing, great regexp support,
a macro language, and syntax hilighting for just about any language you
can think of (including ruby textpad.com/add-ons/synn2t.html
-- I use Ruby (3)) You can run javac and lint from inside, I imagine
it''s easy to create Ruby hooks if they don''t exist already.

I''ll 2nd this big time. Even though I don''t use it for Ruby,
TextPad
is a solid, clean editor. There are always things I''d like to change,  
namely a folder tree (the lack of which is a major reason I don''t use  
it for ''project'' file editing, and it''s the same
reason I don''t use
Scite), but otherwise it''s solid.
