Rails - Jun 2005 - ActionMailer with content from DB: Unwanted HTML escape

I''m sending a confirmation email with content from the DB. Everything 
goes great, except that the ''&'' in the DB content ends up
coming out as
''&'' in the email. Why is it being escaped, and what
can I do to
prevent this? Thanks,
