Is anyone developing a generic e-commerce site in Rails for which they plan to release the source code? It would be great to have this available (i.e. as a starter kit as mentioned earlier). Perhaps something with functionality similar to http://www.oscommerce.com. Doesn''t need to be quite as flexible out of the box though, as users should be able to easily customize the Rails site to fit their needs. If not, I''d like to start work on one.

It was going to be my learning Ruby project for this spring. -Robby -- /*************************************** * Robby Russell | Owner.Developer.Geek * PLANET ARGON | www.planetargon.com * Portland, OR | robby-/Lcn8Y7Ot69QmPsQ1CNsNQ@public.gmane.org * 503.351.4730 | blog.planetargon.com * PHP/PostgreSQL Hosting & Development * --- Now hosting PostgreSQL 8.0! --- ****************************************/
Hello, I got some requests for the money class I use in www.snowdevil.ca Its certainly nothing spectacular and basically a straight implementation of the example in the compose_of api docs but here is it anyways: http://leetsoft.com/rails/money Please send any criticism (constructive or not) or enhancements my way. -- Tobi http://www.snowdevil.ca - Snowboards which don''t suck http://www.hieraki.org - Open source book authoring http://blog.leetsoft.com - Technical weblog
A few nitpicks: - the divide method actually multiplies the currency instead of dividing. Looks like a copy and paste error. - "divide" spelled "devide" - "multiply" spelled "multiplicate" A possible improvement would be to be able to define a service for currency conversion instead of hard coded values. Otherwise, looks good. Nice job. -Lee -----Original Message----- From: rails-bounces-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org [mailto:rails-bounces-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org] On Behalf Of Tobias Luetke Sent: Friday, February 04, 2005 11:35 AM To: rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org Subject: [Rails] [ANN] Money class Hello, I got some requests for the money class I use in www.snowdevil.ca Its certainly nothing spectacular and basically a straight implementation of the example in the compose_of api docs but here is it anyways: http://leetsoft.com/rails/money Please send any criticism (constructive or not) or enhancements my way. -- Tobi http://www.snowdevil.ca - Snowboards which don''t suck http://www.hieraki.org - Open source book authoring http://blog.leetsoft.com - Technical weblog _______________________________________________ Rails mailing list Rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails
