Drag Drop problem with Div using overflow:auto
There seems to be a problem with dragging an object outside a div if using overflow:auto on the div style. My problem is the same as the one described in the following thread but the responder''s "fix" did not work for me. Is there a fix for this problem? http://wrath.rubyonrails.org/pipermail/rails-spinoffs/2006-February/002599.html Regards _______________________________________________________ The FREE service that prevents junk email http://www.mailshell.com

Is there a fix for this problem?I had the exact same problem, so i used Ryan Gahl''s rework of the dragdrop.js library and it works like a charm. I dont have a copy to attach here, but i highly recommend using his as a baseline for whatever drag/drop functionality that you need. RE: Drag Drop problem with Div using overflow:auto
I took a look at the code I copied off the thread: http://wrath.rubyonrails.org/pipermail/rails-spinoffs/2006-February/002599.html Seems this only does some magic when using ghosting and floating options. I hardcoded these options to true and it now drags out of the div but the object I am dragging becomes very far away from the mouse pointer (positioning problem). Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix that doesn’t require the floating and ghosting to be set to true? But, more than anything I submitted that file to this list for those who wanted to see a train of thought for a solution to this common problem... with the expectation that people would adapt it to work with their specific application. So my suggestion, is basically to change my file as you see fit, as I have done to the original dragdrop.js file for MY purposes. I.e. make it so ghosting and floating are not required, etc...
